About us
We are a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue. We are not a shelter our dogs are
placed in foster homes with volunteers until they are adopted. We are a
volunteer based group. It is the
only alternative, cage-free no-kill animal rescue.

HPARA is a “no-kill” rescue. This means that we do not euthanize an animal unless a veterinarian deems it necessary for medical reasons. We take in dogs primarily from over full “kill” shelters, Individual owners who can no longer care for them. Pets that come to us are cared for by dedicated volunteers.
About the Rescue
HPARA opened its doors in 2006. It wasn't long before homeless dogs
and puppies began to find their way to HPARA doorstep and HPARA was formed. The rescue then decision
was made to become a full 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization. HPARA
was made official on March 2009 and since then the Rescue has experienced
amazing growth.
While the rescue focus has been primarily with dogs and puppies,
rescue of any abused, abandoned or neglected companion animals is undertaken,
provided there is space available. In past years, dogs, puppies and even cats have been rescued, treated and cared for until suitable new caretakers
have been found.
Dogs and puppies are accepted from their legal caretakers
(we do not purchase them) Due to our limited space and volunteers we can only
accept them as we find homes for others. We cannot accept lost and found
animals, the law states they must be handled by your local Animal Control.
